HIT Opava received a generous gift
Baseball and softball club SK HIT Opava announced a very positive news on their web pages. The club received half a million (around 20 000 euro) Czech crowns gift to build a new field and is promised another half million Czech crowns in the future. The club will finally get a chance to build a field where older categories can play as wepp.
Based on the information from the article Opava does not want to build the new field in the place of the old one, but, with help of the city, they look for a new location. „The current field Na Hliníku is not sufficient anymore, and not only because of its size, which does not allow older players to fully train and compete, but also because of the additional technical insufficiencies,“ club mentioned on their page.
The current field can only host competitions up to U13 category. The players were then forced to look for the loans in other clubs in Northern Moravia. With the new field this should change and HIT Opava might be able to eventually put together a team for the older players. After more than 30 years since founding the club, Opava can thus move a mile step forward.
