Czechs beat Spain 11-7 in first game at Tenerife
Czechs managed to beat the home team 11-7 in the first out of four games of mini tournament at Tenerife. At one point, Czech nationals led 11-0, however, their opponent managed to score 7 unanswered runs and make the game more dramatic.
Unfortunately, fans who wanted to follow the game either via a stream, or play-by-play were out of luck. The only way to see the scoring were Instagram stories provided by Czech Baseball Association. Thanks to them we know that Czech opened the score with two run homerun by Martin Červinka in the second inning. Czech team then managed to increase their lead to 11-0, with an offensive display by Jakub Hajtmar who hit a grand slam.
Marek Minařík didn’t allow a single run in four innings he pitched. Thanks to several homeruns, however, the home team managed to get on the scoresheet and bring a drama to the game.
Czech team won the first game of the series. Next game is planned for Tuesday at 17:00 CET.
