EXL: Philippines international will play for Jablonec
Jablonec will enter their historically first season in Extraliga with Philippines international Paulo Macasaet. Macasaet should play on the mound.
Twenty-five year old is a regular member of the Philippines national squad since 2015, he already played in several international tournaments, including qualification for 2017 World Baseball Classic. He was supposed to play against Czech senior team at World Baseball Classic 2021, however, the tournament had to be postponed due to Covid-19.
Macasaet became MVP at East Asia Cup 2015 in age of 19, where he didn’t allow a single run in 13 IP. He was a starting pitcher when Philippines took on South Korea at Asian Baseball Championship in 2017. Unfortunately, his team wasn’t able to beat the favorite and took the fourth place.
