Adam Macko added another great start for AquaSox

Slovak pitcher Adam Macko started on the mound for Everett when AquaSox hosted Hillsboro Hops for the second time this season. And it was a great performance this time as well.

Macko didn’t start the game well as the first two batters he faced reached bases and Hops took 1-0 lead. However, he then started to dominate and finished the inning with three strikeouts. Home batters couldn’t get any hits against him in the following innings and Macko finished his outing with 8 strikeouts. He was substituted after five innings while his team was 0-1 behind. AquaSox then managed to tie the game, however, Hillsboro scored another run, which AquaSox didn’t manage to respond to.

‚I have a lot more in the tank‘: Mariners prospect Adam Macko set to soar

PEORIA, Ariz. – Pitcher Adam Macko, a rising star in the Mariners ‚ minor-league system, might well have the most fascinating background. Macko, a 21-year-old lefty, was born in Slovakia, where at age 7 he turned a nose up at the country’s favorite sports – soccer and hockey – in favor of baseball, which wasn’t exactly popular.
