PBW: Prospects said goodbye to the tournament with a loss against Globetrotters
Friday morning saw the game between Czech Prospects and Hakusoh Globetrotters being played at Tempo. The game was to determine the winner of Group B.
Czech youngers were a clear outsider against experienced foreign selection taken from different European leagues. This was on display from the beginning, where Czechs got two runners on bases, but thanks to being caught while stealing, they were unable to score any runs. Matyáš Němčanský had issues with his pitches in the bottom half of the inning, which culminated into 4 runs.
Němčanský improved his control in the following inning, not allowing any runs. Unfortunately, Globetrotters were able to score again, after a two run homerun from Paul Griessel Jr. and took 7-0 lead. Petr Tretera substituted Němčanský in the fourth inning, while Adam Veselý threw the sixth inning. Globetrotters added 3 more runs against them, which increased their lead to 10.
Since Prospects were unable to score, the game finished early. Globetrotters dominated the game and showed why they won Group B. They will play semifinals against the second team from Group A, that will come from the game between Czechs and Spaniards. Prospects finished second in Group B, however, they will not continue in the tournament, and so the third team will play against the winner of Group A.
