Only four hours after the end of the game against Japan we got to see U18 national team played their semifinals game against the strong IMG Academy side. Americans showed why they are unbeaten on the the tournament and Czech team was left to play for the third place.
Czech started the game with Vojtěch Ventruba on the mound, but Americans seem to find the trick against the young pitcher and took 2-0 lead after the first inning. They increased their lead in the following innings and Czechs were unable to stop them despite a pitching substitution. In the end we got to see 4 players on the mound, after Ventruba it was Jan Kozel, Adrián Mück and Lukáš Chromý.

On the other hand, Czech bats had much more issues to get going. Czechs finished without a scored run and with only 3 hits. Two of these came from Šimon Hanzal. Denis Šmiřák also got on the base every time he came to the batting box, walking three times.
U18 lost 0-16 to IMG Academy and will play for the third place. Their opponent will be the loser from Porto Rico – Canada game.
