College Baseball: Georgia back to winning ways
The previous week saw five Czech players in College Baseball. David Bauer playing for Embry-Riddle is still waiting for his chance.
Georgia University played 4 games in the previous week, one against Wofford and three against Alabama. Daniel Padyšák played the last of them, when he entered the game in the sixth inning. He remained on the mound for 5 outs and allowed a three run homerun to his opponent. In the end, Georgia won 10-5 and currently holds the record 21-4.
Padyšák – 1.2 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 0 SO, 1 HR
While Georgia University won four times, Georgia Tech only got one win from four games. Michal Kovala took part in the Friday game against North Carolina when he entered the game in the eighth inning, while his team was 4-5 behind. Czech pitcher didn’t allow any runs, but his team mates didn’t take advantage of a huge push in the ninth inning and were not able to score any runs despite loaded bases.
Kovala – 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 SO
Martin Zelenka also played against North Carolina when UNC Wilmington played them on Tuesday. Zelenka played as DH, but he was unable to get any hits. In the end UNC lost 0-10. Czech catcher didn’t play in the weekend games against Elon.
We also promised to bring the statistics for Jan Pospíšil from the previous week, which were not available at the time. Czech batter played three games against Fayetteville and earned 3 hits from 11 at bats. But he will have much better memories on the week after, despite Pitt Community losing all of their games. Czech player played all of them and had 3 hits and 2 walks. Pospíšil now played 20 games for his team and is one of the most utilized players for Pitt Community.

Nicolas O’Rourke played two more games for Diablo Valley against Modesto. He played both in the left field and had one hit in the first game. However, Diablo Valley lost both games and currently holds the record 8-17. O’Rourke has BA .200 and OBP .300. He is still the most utilized Czech player in College Baseball with 21 games played.
