EXL: Draci signed players with experience from MLB and MiLB
Extraliga reigning champions Draci Brno announced two new signings on Tuesday. Yoervis Medina and Alex Monsalve are coming to Brno. Draci signed two players with plenty of experience from professional baseball in USA>
Yoervis Medina is certainly an interesting name. Thirty five year old Venezuelan pitcher played 146 games in Major League Baseball for Seattle Mariners and Chicago Cubs. He threw 146 innings with ERA 3.08 and 147 strikeouts. His last season in MLB was in 2015. A year later he tried his luck in Phillies organization, but he was unable to get to the main team. He then moved to Venezuela and Italy, where he played the previous season for Senago. He didn’t have a good season there, as he finished with ERA 8.01 and 23 walks in 30.1 innings pitched.
The second Venezuelan is Alex Monsalve who played in AAA in MiLB. He spent 9 seasons in Cleveland Guardians and Toronto Blue Jays organizations. In MiLB he played 556 games, with BA .260, OBP .310, and 25 HR. After he finished in USA in 2017, he moved back to Latin America, where he played mainly in Venezuela. In the previous year he represented his country in Central American and Caribbean Games, where Venezuela took bronze medals.
