U12 EC: Czech started the championship with a huge win
Czech U12 national team played an important game at this year’s European Championship. They faced France, who were pegged for one of the main competitors for the semifinals.
Mário Krásny’s team started the game well, when they were leading 9-0 after an inning. It came thanks to a homerun from Tobias Foret, and two homeruns from Dominik Malý.
France scored a run of their own in the second inning, but Czech got one back in the following half inning.
The opponent found their momentum in the fifth inning and they forced Czechs to substitute the pitcher. France scored 3 runs in the meantime. But young Czechs picked up the pace in the next half inning and with 4 runs of their own they increased their lead to 10 runs. This means the game finished on mercy rule.
With a 14-4 win, Czechs made a good step towards the semifinals. They will now need to solidify their win against Ukraine on Wednesday at 13:00.
