EXL: Josef Cihlář and Jiří Hikl are headed to Ostrava
The three-time champion from Ostrava is looking for the ways to strengthen their roster as well. Two pitchers should be headed to northern Moravia. Both Josef Cihlář from Kotlářka and Jiří Hikl from Jablonec should join them on loan.
This will be the first Cihlář plays for a team other than Kotlářka in Extraliga, as he played nine seasons for Prague team. In them he threw 140.2 IP with ERA 6.14. The previous season wasn’t one of his best, but the same went for the entire team, when he allowed 16 runs in 9.1 IP and his ERA climbed to 15.48. In Promotion League, however, he wouldn’t allow any runs. Beside Extraliga, Cihlář also has experience from USA, where he played the university league for Odessa.
Twenty year old Jiří Hikl only played one season in Extraliga so far, but he left his mark playing for the newcomer from Jablonec. In the regular season he threw 45.2 IP with ERA 6.30. In Promotion League he became the most used pitcher of his team after James Smiley and AJ Fell as he played in 4 games, earning a win and ERA 7.41.
