CBC: Ostrava won the first finals game

Arrows Park welcomed fans for the first game of Czech Baseball Cup on Friday afternoon when Arrows faced Hroši Brno. After the first 12-2 win, it’s Ostrava who are closer to winning it all.

For the first five innings it looked like a close game. Both starters kept their teams in the game. However, everything changes once Hroši starter Viktor Baránek got out of the game. Their bullpen came in play with Adam Jacques and Michal Pokorný. The two of them allowed 9 runs giving Arrows the reins over the game.

Home starter Alexandr Šín had a much better game, when he threw 6 innings with only 2 runs allowed. Matyáš Pjontek then came to close the game and he threw a scoreless inning.

Michael Vykoukal had a good game offensively, finishing with 4 hits. Daniel Černý was Arrow’s leadoff, allowing him to earn 4 runs.

Series now moves to Brno, where we should get to know the cup winner. Arrows are now closer to winning it two years in a row.
