College Baseball: Martin Zelenka had 3 HR in 2 games

New week brings new review of Czech players in College Baseball overseas. There were five players in action, some of whom had an impressive performance.

Martin Zelenka, playing for UNC Wilmington, had a great week. Czech player played a three game series against Charlotte and he was a part of the starting lineup in all three of them. The first game was already a good one for him as he scored a solo homerun. In the end, UNC lost 10-21, however. The second game was all about Zelenka, who blasted two homeruns and had 4 RBI. In the third he had one walk.

For the first time in the season Georgia got swept. Daniel Padyšák played the second game against Kentucky for them. He entered the game in the fifth inning, when his team was 0-3 down. Padyšák didn’t remain on the mound for long. After two walks and a double he was promptly substituted (0 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 BB). In the end, Kentucky won 9-3.

On the other hand, Georgia Tech had a much better series, as they swept their opponent. Czech fans got to see an interesting series agianst NC State, where Michal Kovala played, as well. He went on the mound in the second game, where he threw 2.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Both, however, were unearned (2.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 1 SO).

Pitt Community with Jan Pospíšil played 4 games in the week. The stats from the games against Wake Tech are not available at the moment of the writing of the article, however, and so we are unable to tell, whether Czech played all the games of the series. But from what we know Pospíšil was walked twice and had 2 runs.

Nicolas O’Rourke played two games for Diablo Valley. First he was in the starting lineup against Santa Rosa, but he was unable to get any hits from 3 AB. And since his teammates had a similar performance, Santa Rosa won 1-0. O’Rourke then played against the same opponent, but he got into the game in the ninth inning. His team kept the 4-3 lead and he didn’t get any at bats.
